This 2 DVD set delivers a documentary film of the city of Neuville’s school, which was created in 1973 according to the principles and philosophy of Francoise Dolto. The school hosts forty students and ten adults to supervise them. It is meant to be an alternative to the traditional school system with an attention to the participation of the students and their emancipation as human beings. This film (plus bonus) has been made by Fabienne d’Ortoli and Michel Amram, the founders of this school, as a tribute to Fernand Oury (1920 – 1997), one of the major pedagogue and creator of modern French schooling (perhaps the most well-known name in institutional pedagogy) in the mid-sixties. In French (NTSC System with English subtitles).
