New Orleans was a town belonging to France, Spain and Louisiana well before becoming part of the US and was a great crossroads for many cultural forms which, of course, gave birth to jazz. But in the forties, this birthplace of jazz witnessed the development of a very personal style of blues and Rhythm & Blues, taking its roots from the motley and cosmopolitan earth of the port.
