The second record made by Romane as a leader confirmed his incomparable talent and showed his aptitude forpaying tribute to tradition – in a very “Quintette du Hot Club de France” manner – in a modernised form rewritten for contemporary consumption. In this album, Romane’s compositions (today standards in the genre) are magnified by the presence of Florin Niculescu, who drives Swing back into its rightful corner while forcing Romane to nothing short of excellence.
